Songs for Peace

If you're serious about wanting to promote global peace, go out and make some noise about it. That's exactly what the International Visitors Council of Greater Kansas City is doing tonight — hosting the Concert for Global Peace along with UMKC and the Conservatory of Music and Dance. An international cast of performers, including Croatian-born recording artist and peace activist Nenad Bach — will headline the concert, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Rose Theater of Rockhurst High School (9301 State Line Road). Bach, who has an impressive international reputation as a rock artist, will perform with New York-based bass guitarist Richard Lindsay and several performers from UMKC's Conservatory, including musicians from the People's Republic of China, the Czech Republic, Iceland, Mexico and Kyrgyzstan. "Mr. Bach also requested an accordionist," says KCIVC's Barbara Dolci, "so Kansas City's Don Lipovac will play, too." Tickets cost $30; buy them online at kcivc.org or by calling 816-235-6222.
