Friday, August 15, at The Palladium, 47 Central Avenue in the West Bottoms.

San Francisco-based DJ and producer Sage (aka Laura Totten) has a lot of hot drum-'n'-bass wax on her decks, and she also has way too much on her proverbial plate. Just reading about her myriad activities will exhaust you as much as her hyperkinetic DJ sets. Besides holding residencies at S.F. clubs Ultra, Phunckateck and Eklektic, Sage runs (with a partner) Green Promotions, guides Phylum Recordings, writes reviews for BPM magazine, drums and sings in the indie-rock band Meathe with revered techno DJ and producer John Tejada, and models for DC Shoes. Damn. Judging by her new mix CD, Drum & Bass Elements 01 (Moonshine), Sage likes her rhythms as accelerated as her lifestyle. Spinning 150-bpm pulse-pounders from the likes of Hive, Klute, Cyantific, J.T. (Tejada in unexpected drum-'n'-bass mode) and her own creations, this dexterous hottie will make you reassess the notion that jungle is in the doldrums.
