Approach first connected with J. Todd after meeting at a 2005 show in Lawrence, and over the course of the next few years, the two traded verses and beats, eventually resulting in a collaboration under the moniker Poitier. The Poitier album, Continue Reading (available to stream and purchase here), is a percussive, funky, Prince-y dance party that somehow feels both ahead of its time and like a classic hip-hop track you’ve had in the collection for years.
