Comedian Margaret Cho hits the Voodoo Lounge on October 2. She will be showcasing songs from her forthcoming album, tentatively titled Guitarded, which will feature guest appearances by Patty Griffin, Jon Brion, Grant Lee Phillips, and others. Guitarded is also the name of an album by pop-punk band Limp, so she might want to change that.
Tickets go on sale to everyone on Saturday morning, but you can get on the pre-sale using the password "Revolution." They're describing it as a "workshop," which can mean everything from audience interaction to songs that are still being worked upon. Cho's a strong performer, with a rabid fanbase. Her last show in the area was at the Uptown, and that sold out, so I imagine the pre-sale might be your best bet on this one--intimate performance and all that.
