Andy Reid is the new head coach in KC.

Andy Reid is the new head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, according to ESPN. The World Wide Leader reported that attorneys are reviewing the contract, which is expected to be finalized today. Reuben Frank of Comcast Sportsnet Philadelphia reported on Twitter that the contract is for five years.

Scott Pioli's exit as general manager paved the way for the walrus-mustachioed, former Philadelphia Eagles coach to sign on with the Chiefs. In a bit of awkwardness, Pioli was part of the Chiefs delegation that interviewed Reid, who apparently wants his own general manager (either Green Bay Packers director of football operations John Dorsey or former Cleveland Browns general manager Tom Heckert).

Why Kansas City? NFL.com sums it up: Control.

"Reid will be able to shape the organization in his image," NFL.com's Gregg Rosenthal wrote. "He is expected to bring a general manager or personnel director that he's familiar with so they can work together in lockstep. But make no mistake: Reid will be in charge."
