The NHL lockout is still hanging around. There have been no games played, and only a fool would get their hopes up about recent negotiations between the players and the league. And even if a partial season is salvaged, a 48-game season is weak sauce. But, hockey fans can get 2013 off to a fantastic start on Saturday by posing with the Stanley Cup. The legendary drinkware will be in town Saturday night at The Rink at Burlington Creek (6109 NW 63rd Terrace Kansas City, MO 64151) for a fundraiser for KCIce's charity organization, UnCommons Community and Harvesters Community Food Network.

There's a private dinner with sport's most legendary hardware and former New York Islander Ken Morrow (who had his name etched into the trophy four times as a member of the juggernaut Iles team in the 1980s) at Em Chamas restaurant (6101 NW 63rd Terrace Kansas City, MO 64151) 4-6:30 p.m. Saturday for $100 or $120 with a commemorative photo. Morrow's gold medal from the 1980 Olympic "Miracle on Ice" hockey team (he's in the chill-inducing video above) will also be on display.

After the dinner the Cup will be at the rink 6:30-9:30 p.m., the cost to pose with the Cup is three canned food items or $5. From 9:30 to 10:30, $15 will get you the chance to skate with the cup on the rink. See a flier for the events after the jump.
