If you're a fan of the Boot, the 14-month-old Italian bistro at 415 Westport Road, opened by Aaron Confessori and Richard Wiles, you have until Friday morning at 1:30 a.m. to enjoy the place. The publicist for Confessori and Wiles, who also operate the French-inspired Westport Cafe & Bar up the street at 419 Westport Road, released an announcement this afternoon stating that the restaurant has "been placed under contract to be sold to a new owner."

Confessori and Wiles have not revealed who the new owner of the restaurant will be, but according to their spokesperson, "The owners of the new concept plan to open this summer."

The Boot's popular Sunday brunch was voted "Best Brunch" last year in the annual Pitch "Best of Kansas City" issue. Confessori tells Fat City that many of the most popular brunch dishes from the Boot - the lemon ricotta pancakes, the shortrib ravioli, the apple fritters - will move over to the Sunday brunch menu at the Westport Cafe & Bar.
