Previewing Chiefs @ Raiders Tickets

The Oakland Raiders have shown some glimpses of hope this season, but those glimpses have not been able to be sustained into something more. The Raiders have lost five of their last six games, including a 37-27 loss last week to the New York Jets. Raiders fans have always been passionate, but the price to be passionate at Oakland home games is dropping. The average ticket price for this week's game against the Kansas City Chiefs has dropped 11% over the past week.

Oakland Raiders tickets have an average price of just $91 and a get-in price of $34 for the game against Kansas City this week. The sub-$100 price is 24.17% below the average price for tickets in Oakland this season. With the Chiefs at 10-3 and almost completely locked into the No. 5 seed in the AFC, a lack of competition can't explain the falling prices in Oakland. Prices are also 35% below the average price for Chiefs tickets on the road this year.

Though the Raiders don't have much to look forward to this season, there could still be some bright spots to start optimism for next season. Wide receiver Rod Streater is one of those bright spots for Oakland. Streater, in his second season after being an un-drafted free agent from Temple, currently has 787 yards on the season. That total brings him just 213 yards away from a 1,000 yard receiving season. If Streater accomplishes that feat, he would be the first Raiders receiver to go over 1,000 yards in a season since Randy Moss in 2005. Streater would need to average just 71 yards per game for the next three games. He's fallen under that total just once in the past four games.

The Raiders have one more home game after this, separated by a game next week in San Diego. The next three games for Oakland all come against division opponents in the AFC West. That final home game is against the Denver Broncos in Week 17, who may be resting some starters. The game could be the last chance for Oakland fans to see the Raiders compete at home against one of the top teams in the league. Though the Raiders haven't won many games, they have competed closely in most of them. For the die-hard Raiders fans, this is a great chance to see Oakland play for a below average price.
