Is this the New Year's Eve that finally lives up to your wildly unrealistic expectations? Probably not! But you have Wednesday off, so you might as well hit the town. Here are a few of our top picks in case you haven't yet decided where to go.


The Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts is hosting EVE, a party featuring performances by Govinda, Victor and Penny, Dave Stephens Band and DJ Earworm. Tickets range from $95 to $225, depending on how much access you want. More info here.


The Uptown Theater is hosting its annual party, which includes a six-hour open bar spread out across five rooms, laser light shows, and five DJs. Tickets cost $60. More here.

At KC Live at the Power and Light District, there's live music from the Patrick Lentz Band, a ball drop at midnight, fireworks, some complimentary food, access to 14 participating bars, open bar for four hours, $99. More here.

Countdown at the Corner is down a venue this year due to Velvet Dog's closing a few months back, but Tower Tavern, Sol Cantina, Haus, Empire Room and the Drop are still participating, $75 including booze. More here.

An evening of blues with the Flood Brothers, Billy Beale, Coyote Bill Boogie Band, and the Kentucky Gentleman, at Westport Saloon, $7. More here.
