Junot Diaz is one of the most decorated novelists in America at the moment. He won the Pulitzer Prize in 2008 for his novel, The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao. Last year, he was a recipient of an illustrious MacArthur Foundation "genius" grant, which awards $500,000 to especially talented artists and thinkers. He's also a writing professor at MIT and the fiction editor of the Boston Review.

Tonight, Diaz will be in Lawrence for a talk and to read from his most recent book of short stories, This Is How You Lose Her. It's at Woodruff Auditorium in the Kansas Union, at 7:30 p.m. Here's Diaz reading an excerpt from Oscar Wao on Fresh Air awhile back.
