A second (that we know of) Kansas City Star scribe this week has one foot out the door of the paper of record's stately 18th Street and Grand newsroom.

Adam Teicher, who covers the Kansas City Chiefs for The Star, confirmed via Twitter just moments ago that he's covering Saturday's preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers as his last assignment before moving on to ESPN.

He will continue to cover the Chiefs for ESPN. The timing is nice for ESPN (less so for The Star) to get a beat writer with the NFL season starting September 8. Teicher was a solid reporter for The Star; we're hoping he doesn't get into ESPN's story manufacturing business.

Teicher's impending departure follows on the heels of Thursday's news that political reporter Steve Kraske is leaving the paper for the most part to grab a professorial gig at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

While Teicher is leaving the paper altogether, Kraske will still have a weekend column at The Star.
