Domino's recently tested DVDs in Brazil that give off the smell of cooking pizza as they play (ink on the discs releases the odor as they heat up) in promotion with a local video store. Marco's Pizza (6638 Nieman Road) in Shawnee thinks it can do one better. The new pizza shop has a window into the adjacent Family Video, so you can rent a movie and get a pizza all in one location.

Hoogland Foods, an affiliate of Family Video, made a deal last year with Marco's to open pizza shops in or around movie stores. The deal has led to 14 new pizza shops to date, part of a push that calls for 250 franchise locations in the next three to five years.

Marco's, a 25-year-old chain out of Toledo, Ohio, has traditional and cracker-crust pizza. It also serves Cheezy Bread, Cinnasquares, subs, and chicken wings/dippers. The new location is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. You can order online or call 913-268-3322. And, yes, Marco's will deliver a pizza and a movie.
