Justin Kendall gives you a comprehensive breakdown of the Big 12 Tournament in this week's print edition of The Pitch (you can see it here online). In addition to learning about the players who mean the difference between winning and losing, you can match hairstyles with coaches and know how schools have fared in past years.

As for where fans of a given team may congregate, Kendall suggests Sharks Billiards (K-State), the Cashew (Kansas), Sports Cave Bar & Grill (Oklahoma), Kelly's Westport Inn (Iowa State), Nica's 320 and the Fox and Hound (Oklahoma State), and Johnny's Tavern (Baylor). I've rounded up a few drink and food specials for those who are agnostic but interested in joining in the revelry.

The Providence New American Kitchen has a series of game-day specials that begin today. I'd opt for the Heritage Pork sandwich (cola-braised pork and spicy slaw on a pretzel roll) or Boulevard Beer Bratwurst (duck sausage, sauerkraut, whole grain mustard on a Farm to Market bun) for $7.

Rhythm and Booze (423 Southwest Boulevard) has $1 tacos from 3 to 11 p.m. ($1.50 if you're taking them to go) on Thursdays and a $5 Philly cheesesteak with fries on Fridays.

Port Fonda (4141 Pennsylvania), which opens at 11 a.m., has $2 Free State beers and the games on television today.

It's the 60th annual Pancake Day at Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral (415 West 13th Street) on Friday from 7 to 11 a.m. The Kansas City Kiwanis and the Family Conservancy are organizing the pancake breakfast, which benefits the Student Assistance Program. It's all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, coffee and orange drink for $6. There is not a better pregame in the city.

And in nondrinking news, Time Warner Cable is providing free Wi-Fi access in the Power & Light District through Sunday, March 24.

Where are you headed for the tournament?
