The Alamo Drafthouse on Main Street will close for more than a month while the space is remodeled, its CEO said in a statement. The dine-in theater that took over the former AMC Mainstreet space earlier this summer, will reopen before November 15, founder and CEO Tim League said in a post on the theater's website. From the statement:

While we always expected the renovations of this magnificent theater to be a gradual process, due to circumstances beyond our control we won't have a certificate of occupancy during the next phase of construction. Therefore, we will close the doors to the Mainstreet beginning today and move forward with the planned renovations of the theaters, kitchen, and The Chesterfield bar all at once. This temporary closure will allow us to complete construction in just a few short weeks. We will be ready to open bigger and better than ever by November 15, allowing you to experience movie watching in the true Alamo style, with dine-in service, signature programming, and the best presentation in town in all six theaters.

The statement also said that upcoming free outdoor screenings of Planes, Trains and Automobiles and Jurassic Park at Liberty Memorial on October 12 and 13 will go on as planned.
