When it comes to designing posters, T-shirts, album covers and more for his best friends' band, Rudolph Wohlgemuth — Rudy for short — can't fail. The tall, dark and handsome 25-year-old devil of a graphic designer comes to just about every Super Black Market show. Look for the guy who's either in snazzy clothes (the colors range from black to black) or a startlingly realistic Chewbacca costume — the teeth on that wookie, jeezus! — romping around with the band's other mascot, the Naked Guy. Besides having fun and pumping up crowds at SBM shows, Rudy has helped his boys brand their image with propaganda that is, as singer and bassist Sonny Remlinger puts it, "very artistic but kinda outta control." Shirts emblazoned with an angel-winged James Brown, a bat-winged bear, an upside-down guillotine and the famous "Super Black Mother Fucking Market" logo make for the kind of wardrobe worth buying even if you dislike the band. We can't wait to see the complete rebranding Rudy is going to undertake when Super Black puts out its second record. The force is strong with this wookie.
