Jasper Mirabile Jr. recently returned from a trip to Rome, which he says reminded him of the simple, classic flavors and ingredients of the Old World: pecorino, black pepper, oxtails. He's bringing all of these together for what's he's calling "A Roman Holiday Experience" — a cocktail reception and cooking demo, at his namesake restaurant (1201 West 103rd Street, 816-941-6600) at 7 p.m. "I'll do a study of two different pastas," Mirabile tells us.
