Back when microbreweries were all the rage, the 75th Street Brewery was the first of its kind to make an appearance in KC. The wildly popular venue is frequented by neighborhood regulars and people from all over the city looking for a good meal and fresh, home-brewed beer. It's attractive and spacious, with an enormous bar and great window seating. Try the excellent fish and chips with a tasty Muddy Mo' dry Irish stout or Aviator oatmeal stout.
The 75th Street Brewery is a noisy, cheerful gathering place where the dark dining room is separated from the bar by a glass-enclosed minibrewery. The food runs the gamut, from pizza to a Kansas City strip, but mostly its what tastes particularly good with cold beer — roasted chicken, burgers, fish and chips and hickory-smoked ribs. Even the french fries are spicy. The service, however, is hit-or-miss. — Charles Ferruzza
