We're only a few weeks away from summer time and that means music fans are checking out the calendar to see which festivals they want to attend this year. Probably the biggest festival coming to Kansas City is the Dancefestopia, the EDM festival taking place September 12th and 13th. 2 day passes are only $93 and VIP unlimited drinks will only cost you $193. It's one of the more entertaining and exciting festivals in KC, and certainly an event to check out if you're in to the EDM scene.
However, if you broaden your horizons to outside of Kansas City, there are several major music festivals taking place this summer. One in particular just had tickets go on sale and is one of the biggest events down in New Orleans every year.
The Essence Music Festival, headlined by Prince, will be taking place in New Orleans July 4th through the 6th. According to ticket seller Select-A-Ticket, the average ticket price for Essence Music Festival tickets
is $322. The cheapest ticket is for the second of the three days where you'll be able to get-in for only $90. A full three day pass has an average ticket price of $356 so fans looking to see everything should certainly look into the full pass.
As mentioned previously, prince is the headliner Friday night with Nile Rodgers performing as well. On Saturday July 5th, Mary J. Blige, Jill Scott, and the Roots are just a few of the performers who will be on stage, and Sunday the 6th will wrap it all up with Lionel Richie, Charlie Wilson, and Erykah Badu.
If you're looking to check out one of the more enjoyable festivals of the year, there's a few things to keep in mind. According to Select-A-Ticket, ticket prices typically go up as the event approaches, and much of the choice seating gets taken early, so it's advisable to book now while the best seats remain available. In addition, organizers are expecting a record attendance so there's plenty of reason to expect prices to continue to rise.
