Do you know Robert Paulson? Do you like beer? Then tonight you'll want to be at the kickoff for Screenland Armour's Firkin Fest
Screenland (408 Armour Road, North Kansas City) is partnering with KC Beer Blog to throw the festival of beers and classic movies. I'll let Screenland's site explain what exactly a Firkin is: "A firkin is a cask of beer, typically filled with ingredients altering it. Example a cask of milk stout that has mint leaves added to create a one time only mint milk stout." Screenland is promising six firkins from Left Hand, New Belgium, Tallgrass, Emperyan, Summit, and Lagunitas.
The festival gets started tonight with the tappings of two casks at 8:30 p.m. and a screening of Fight Club
at 9 p.m.
The festival continues Saturday with the tappings of four firkins at 5:30 p.m., Team America
at 6 p.m. and Aliens
at 8:30 p.m.
If you want to just drink the beers, you can do so. You don't have to attend the movies. A sample of the firkin beers is $3 and a pint costs $6. But if you want America, fuck yeah
stuck in your head for the rest of the month, movie tickets are $10.
