Tickets are still available for the Friends of JJ's Benefit tonight at the Uptown Theater. The music, food and entertainment extravaganza has been organized to help the employees of the former JJ's - destroyed in an explosion February 19 - and honor the memory of Megan Cramer. As Charles Ferruzza has written about over on Fat City, the restaurant and entertainment communities have rallied to support the employees of JJ's over the past few weeks.

The event, hosted by former Kansas City Chief Eddie Kennison and KCTV Channel 5's Kelly Jones, will also benefit the Megan Cramer Foundation for the Arts, a new charity established to remember the 46-year-old server who was killed when JJ's collapsed. More than 50 restaurants are expected to be dishing up food with performances by the Late Night Callers, Victor & Penny, Ron Megee, Loaded Goat, the Grisly Hand, David George, Megan Birdsall, and A Crooked Mile. The doors open at 7 p.m. General admission tickets cost $10, while there are three levels of VIP tickets ranging from $100 to $500.
